IBI Projects:
Mozambique Spatial Development Strategies
Client: Government of Mozambique
Year Completed: 2007
IBI led a three member Mozambican team to undertake strategic level spatial analyses to identify the resources, existing and potential uses, and the implications for development in four districts. One of the main planning tools developed was stand-alone multi-sectoral scenarios spanning over a twenty year time frame to try to understand the potential across multiple sectors and create synergies among sectors by identifying “growth poles” at the district level. The aim is to get the “strategy right” in the first place prior to undertaking land use planning.
