Mozambique Vilankulo City Development Strategy

Vilankulo is a small coastal city situated in the South of Mozambique which looks to become a major national and international tourist destination. The objective of IBI’s assistance was to formulate a complete request for a City Development Strategy (CDS) and a slum prevention and upgrading strategy. The project consisted of three phases. Phase 1 included data collection to identify base line information and issues to be addressed. Phase 2 included data analysis, and identification of options to be included in the Cities Alliance Proposal. Phase 3 included data synthesis, selection of a preferred option and strategy for  the proposal.
