IBI has incorporated women into value chains, provided management and trade opportunities training to businesswomen, and facilitated local and regional development of women’s networks and associations across Africa, the Middle East, and South Asia, including in Mali, Senegal, Ghana, Guinea, Niger, Sierra Leone, Benin, Nigeria, Cameroon, Madagascar, Egypt, Uganda, Kenya, Mozambique, Tanzania, and Pakistan.
IBI facilitates the creation of women to women networks, especially among women-owned businesses, to share concerns and solutions. The networks are effective at identifying opportunities that were thought to be out of reach, such as trade beyond one’s own borders. They also allow for knowledge sharing on social issues of particular concern to women.
